CCBDC is committed to supporting dancing at the Claremont Colleges by providing quality instruction in a variety of dance techniques as well as functioning a hub for Claremont’s vibrant social dance scene. Four teams within the company provide community, performance opportunities, and technique, and are supplemented by weekly classes offered in Latin, Standard, and Social dance styles that reach h

undreds of students. CCBDC provides students a substance-free and body-positive forum for personal and artistic enrichment. Through funding, publicity, and education, CCBDC backs the many social dance clubs on campuses, which produce weekly Salsa, Swing, and Blues events that are attended by dancers throughout the LA area. CCBDC also boasts one of the biggest and most successful competitive dance sport teams on the West Coast. In just ten years, CCBDC’s formation dancesport team has earned seven national collegiate championships, and is a four-time champion in the formation event at the San Francisco International Open. CCBDC provides support for its individual competitors, who successfully compete in Nightclub, Standard, Social and Latin styles in bronze, silver, and gold syllabus, and well as pre-novice levels. Every year, CCBDC hosts the Claremont Showdown, a weekend of dancing and classes, culminating in a individual and formation dancesport competition that draws competitors and performers from around the country.

CCBDC is part of a larger organization called the Collegiate Dancesport Association (CDA). As a part of this group, we host and travel to different competitions at different schools on or near the West Coast.

The third CDA competition of the semester, the Claremont Intercollegiate Showdown is finally in the books! We hope to see you all there at Pomona College's Edmunds Ballroom on November 14th for CCBDC's showcase, where we'll perform the choreographed formation pieces we'll be practicing all semester. We will also be hosting the Nightclub events and Team Match that night. On the 15th, we will be running the Syllabus events, with Open in the evening.

Spectator admission is free! And registration for competitors (and the final schedule of events) is soon to come.

So please join us! Whether that be by cheering your friends on in the sidelines or competing yourself, you're sure to have a fun time!

Looking for a new club to join? Want to meet new friends? Been wanting to try out or continue dancing?

Join us TONIGHT and Wednesday night for our audition series: at 10pm in Edmunds Ballroom tonight, we'll have our Cha-cha review, where you'll learn the short routine you'll need for auditions. On Wednesday night, September 10th, also 10pm in Edmunds Ballroom, we will be holding our auditions! No prior experience in dance is necessary to auditions and auditions are placement only--if you show up, you're on the team! We want to foster an inclusive space where anyone can dance any part with anyone, so if you're interested please join us!
