WCCMA is really grateful for the notes and requests to help during this time of transition. We would love donations in any amount in honor of what you are excited about that’s coming! We have some big projects in the works including percussion workshops, concerts, scholarships for kids, music and art classes, and big performance project preparing for a European debut next year.

We know people have been following this issue with some concern - it has certainly been a stressful and frustrating time - and a disappointing situation to be in. However the article is correct - all our paperwork and requirements to begin receiving our money from the government have been approved in the recent weeks - well over $100k from the last 2 years of operations. The process was significantly slowed down by 2 government shut downs, the past suspension of the CDA by the City, paperwork that was delayed at the local level, and significant inefficiencies in understanding and communication through these last several months. It has been a difficult time for all the parties involved - and it is our hope that moving forward the focus can moved from placing blame on WCCMA for things only the government had control over, to celebrating this moment and the incredible opportunities and creativity that we’ll be providing to the community for a very long time to come.

The Claremont Development Authority faces a financial crisis due to delinquent payments from the Claremont Creative Center, potentially needing a city bailout.

Join us at Claremont Creative Center on February 21, 2026 at 11:00 AM, Wayne will guide you through the basics of creating your own comics. Bring yourself, a sketchbook, and maybe a friend to practice cartooning! Supplies and materials will be provided. Suggested donation of $15 dollars ($10 for students)

Wayne Carter is a Cartoonist and Educator living in Vermont.
Wayne is an Alum from the Center for Cartoon studies and recently finished a Residency for the National Parks Service.

Awww how lovely! Figure Drawing at the Claremont Creative Center! Let’s learn how to capture the human body together on February 28, 2026 at 2:30 PM! The class will feature a live model and materials and supplies will be provided!

This class will be led by Emil O’melia.

Emil O’melia is a Cartoonist and Educator living in Vermont. Emil is an Alum from the Center for Cartoon Studies and recently finished a Residency for the National Parks Service.

Suggested Donation of $25 ($15 for student) per Class. No one will be turned away for being unable to pay.
