MFA THESIS EXHIBITION COMING UP…
Joshua Oduga
Ready… Set… Zoom!
March 9 – March 13
Reception: Tuesday, March 10, 5PM – 7PM
Claremont Graduate University
925 N. Dartmouth Ave., Claremont, CA
Ready… Set… Zoom! explores movement not as arrival, but as accumulation. Developed over three years between Los Angeles, Claremont, New York, and Biella, Italy, the exhibition considers how perception is shaped through layering, repetition, and return.
Working across drawing, pigmented concrete, sound, and writing, Oduga approaches sculpture and installation as relational systems rather than fixed objects. Sound functions as atmosphere; material registers pressure and memory; writing becomes cadence.
Developed in part through research at the Robert Rauschenberg Archives (New York) and Fondazione Pistoletto (Biella, Italy).
Reception: Tuesday, March 10, 5PM – 7PM
Free and open to the public.

Very exciting we have our Atlantic Lecture with Anina Major!!

🗓️March 4th 12-1pm
📍The Board of Trustees Room
150 E 10th street Claremont CA 91711

Anina Major engages with Bahamian plaiting as a contemporary practice and considers how states of awareness emerge through the body. African traditions and European influences learned from interrupted rituals, displaced materials, and symbols carried forward without full archival continuity, manifest into sculpture and performance.
Resulting in a unique body of work composed of diverse forms, that are both autobiographical and fantastical. By using abstraction, voids in the archive become the place for critical reinvention and renewed cultural work.
