Our series of Young Musicians Showcases is very busy. Last week the PSU Jazz Ensemble opened for the Cheryl Alex Trio, and a Jr. Class Recital for PSU student Micah Scothorn on Saturday. Both great show with very talented young people. Today is Mardi Gras Tuesday with the Big Easy Band at 7pm, later this week it's Mel Brown, Anandi and friends, Ron Steen's Trio and Mosaique. There are two Young Musicians Showcases this week, the PSU Jazz Ensemble Thursday night, and the PSU Junior Class Piano Recital for Micah Scothorn on Saturday. Then, it's the Cheryl Alex Trio is on stage following PSU, with Randy Porter and Ed Bennett, on Saturday after the PSU recital, it's the Rita Marquez Quartet with George Mitchell, Ken Anoe and Mike Snyder.
