I an so much better at planning new projects than I am at getting projects done, but I just keep adding new ones to the list anyway!

I’m obsessed with the new pattern by , but I was too late to grab one of her stunning Autumn version kits. I decided to recreate the feel but wound up leaning more orange than red here compared to her version.

I started with a Tilda Creating Memories bundle in the Autumn colorway, but I’ve edited it a bit to remove the lower volume fabrics plus one I just didn’t love, and I pulled out the blue woven plaid to use as one of the accents.

The very top gold and brown fabrics are placeholders for now—I have a couple other prints on order in similar colors that I think I’ll wind up swapping on for those two if I like them when they arrive. Otherwise I’ll probably just roll with these two!

I think this one would be fun to get on the sofa for fall, so it’s jumping ahead of everything else in line today!

This quilt has quietly been helping me make decisions lately. 💕

This is my Perfect Place pattern made in Sharon Holland’s Willow collection, and my cousin has always especially loved this version.

So when she asked me to make a queen-size quilt for her new house, I kept coming back to what she loved about this one—the soft aquas and teals, warm golds, rosy tones, and that slightly vintage, collected feeling.

That’s a big part of why Sharon’s new Charming One collection felt like such a natural starting point for her Gertrude quilt. It has a different personality, but so many of the colors live in that same beautiful world.

A while back I even asked whether I should make another Perfect Place in Charming One. Instead, Charming One is becoming Gertrude by —which feels much more fun since both quilts are ultimately headed to the same person. No need to give my cousin two versions of the exact same pattern. 😂

Funny how an older quilt can end up becoming the color map for a brand-new one.

A fabric pull for someone I love 💕

My sweet cousin asked me to make a queen-size quilt for her bed in her new house, and we landed on Gertrude by Penelope Handmade. Her only real color direction was “I love blues and greens,” and that she loved a previous quilt that was grounded in the Willow collection by Sharon Holland.

I started with Sharon Holland’s Charming One collection, then added in some additional Sharon Holland prints from older collections plus a couple of coordinating Art Gallery Fabrics basics. In the second photo, the top section is the Charming One bundle I started with and the bottom section is everything I added to it.

I am especially obsessed with the Charming One colors that lean just slightly toward the aqua/teal side of blue. And that soft aqua floral in the third photo? I have been anxiously waiting for that print since I first saw this collection. 😍

I love how the whole pull still feels cohesive, but a little scrappier and more layered. This one is going to be BIG — queen size! Background, backing, and binding aren’t pictured here, but those are all decided too.

Now I just have to turn this very pretty pile into an actual quilt. 💕

Sometimes it’s nice to interrupt all the fabric pulls and works-in-progress with a quilt that actually made it all the way to the finish line. 😂

Stellata will probably always have a special place in my pattern collection. I love the way the design feels graphic from across the room, but still gives you plenty to look at when you get closer.

And maybe my favorite thing about it is how much the personality changes depending on the fabrics. Make it soft and low-volume, make it bright, make it moody, make it scrappy—it still feels like Stellata, but never exactly like the last one.

I spend a ridiculous amount of time choosing fabric for quilts, so I love a pattern that gives the fabric room to do some of the storytelling.

Still one of my favorites. 💕

208 HSTs stitched and pressed for my scrappy Halloween Archie Quilt, but I can’t find the motivation to trim them tonight. A project for another day!

A few weeks ago I posted my “let’s make a Halloween quilt entirely from scraps” fabric pull.

And then I decided it needed a little more color.

So naturally I ordered a few fabrics to fill in some gaps.

And then a few more.

And then… apparently enough fabric to make approximately ten Halloween quilts. 😂🎃

At this point I’m not entirely sure whether this is still really looking like a Halloween fabric pull or if I’ve just made a very spooky rainbow, but I’m going with it. 🌈👻

I’m making the Archie quilt by with a scrappy dark background, and I am SO excited to see all of these prints and colors mixed together. The original pull from my bins was already making me happy, but this is winding up really fun.

Please enjoy this cautionary tale about what happens when a quilter says, “I just need a few more colors.” 😂

I make quilts because I love fabric far too much to leave it sitting neatly folded on a shelf. 😂 I love a pattern that looks impressive without making you miserable, a really good scrappy fabric pull, and quilts that feel modern without losing all the warmth and personality that made me fall in love with quilting in the first place.

Around here you’ll find new patterns, works in progress, questionable fabric-pull decisions that somehow work out, lots of color, and plenty of encouragement to just cut the fabric already.

A little Blue Grotto throwback. 💙

I had been making so many larger quilts that I remember being genuinely delighted by how quickly this sweet baby-size version came together. 😂 Sometimes it’s very satisfying to start a quilt and then…actually finish it almost immediately.

The fabrics are by , whose work I absolutely love, and they turned out ridiculously cute in this pattern. I also kept the quilting simple with straight lines on my domestic machine, which gave it the best soft, crinkly texture.

Tiny quilt, very high cute factor. ✨

This little glimpse of fabric and quilting texture is actually part of a pretty big piece of my quilting history. 💛

This was the very first Whole Whole Lot quilt—and technically, the very first quilt ever made from one of my own pattern designs.

I remember choosing Rosewood Fusion by for it and very deliberately using the good fabric because this one felt important. 😂 And all these years later, it still does.

You can’t even see the actual quilt design in this photo, but I kind of love that. Just the fabrics I adored, the texture of the quilting, and a tiny piece of where all of this started.

A tiny Perfect Place for a tiny person.

I made this baby-sized version of Perfect Place for my sweet nephew when he was born (he’s three now), and somehow it’s gotten almost no time on my feed. The way the warm golden background contrasts with the soft prints might be my favorite part…although the ridiculously soft Cuddle minky backing from is a very close second. Always Cuddle for the win.

Baby quilts are just extra special when you know exactly who they’re going home to. 💛
