17th Annual MANIFEST PRIZE --- $10,000 AWARD

Entry Deadline: October 6, 2026

The MANIFEST PRIZE is an international competition and exhibit featuring one prize-winning, jury selected work, including a $10,000 artist's award. $1,000 in additional awards to finalists.

Works submitted must have been completed within the past five years (2021-2026), and the winning work must also be available for the exhibition period of early December through mid-January in order to be eligible. Open to works of any media, any genre/style, any size.

Stop by Manifest Gallery to see our Season 23 opening exhibits—on view now through October 23, 2026!

The following fourteen artists from 10 states will have 52 artworks on display throughout all five galleries. Exhibits include THE SWEEP OF TIME: Beyond the Horizon (FotoFocus Biennial)*, UNBUILT TERRAIN (Patrick D. Wilson), READING FAST TO CATCH THE LAST LIGHT (Jerry Birchfield), BETWEEN VIEWS (Paho Mann), and AN ENTANGLEMENT OF SPACE AND TIME (Ricardo Barros).

Manifest Gallery is free and open to the public Tuesday through Friday from noon to 7pm, and Saturday, noon to 5pm.

ARMATURE: A Call for Works About Structure

Submission Deadline: October 17, 2026

"An artist’s ability to dissect the world into its planes and angles is a kind of x-ray vision that lets us gather information we need to design something new."

ARMATURE is a call for works about the skeletal systems that underpin everything: the sketches, blueprints, designs, the plans that must be sketched with forethought before a project can begin—the engineering of thought and form. This show will be about the evidence of such structure.

Includes an honorarium of $50 for each exhibiting artist, and Grand Jury Award of $1,000 for one jury-selected work from among the exhibits on view.

"There is an emergent need for us to better read images, fed to us non-sequentially, in bursts, juxtaposed, printed, and projected, lest the distortion of truth distort us."

PICTURE STORM is a call for works of art about multiplicity, reproduction, excess, archives, records, overload, and about how we navigate a world that feels overfull of visual information.

Includes an honorarium of $50 for each exhibiting artist, and Grand Jury Award of $1,000 for one jury-selected work from among the exhibits on view.

A friendly reminder to join us for the launch of our 23rd Season with FIVE new exhibits at Manifest Gallery!

On September 24th from 7-9pm Manifest will host a ticketed preview benefit with proceeds supporting the Manifest Annual Fund—(a sneak peek) at five new exhibits. Tickets can be obtained for any donation amount, even $1. To get your special preview tickets for Thursday’s event, visit www.eventbrite.com/e/1998649128345.

The public opening will take place Friday, September 25th from 6-9pm (no tickets required).

The shows will remain on view for four weeks, Tuesday through Friday, 12-7pm, Saturday noon-5pm through October 23rd.

TRANSLUCENT: Works About Transparency & Translucency

Submission Deadline: September 27, 2026

"Translucent materials are enlivened by their play with light. They are nuanced, tinting, coloring, and toning by degrees. Their sheens, layers, and mists emphasize brilliance and create mystery."

TRANSLUCENT is a call for works that employ, depict, or explore translucency and transparency. Glass, acrylic, plastic, stacks of layers, gossamer weaves, lenses, and filters are just some of the materials, subjects, and mechanisms that may pierce, reveal, and distort.

Includes an honorarium of $50 for each exhibiting artist, and Grand Jury Award of $1,000 for one jury-selected work from among the exhibits on view.

IMPRINT invites artists to submit works of printmaking and explores the range of methods and results being achieved within the expansive bounds of these processes.

"The relationship between artists and their current or former instructors can be a powerful one. Even when this bond is left unstated, we carry our professors' voices forward in time as we mature as artists and people."

Out of respect for the artist-teacher bond, and in honor of instructors working hard to help artists tap into a higher mind relative to art and life, we offer TAPPED every year, an annual exhibit that presents paired works of art by current or former artist/teacher pairs.

Includes an honorarium of $50 for each exhibiting artist, and Grand Jury Award of $1,000 for one jury-selected work from among the exhibits on view.

Following the Public Opening Reception of our 23rd Season, Manifest will host a free, one-hour guided tour through its five galleries. Join us on Saturday, September 26th, from 3-4pm with Senior Exhibition Coordinator and Curatorial Assistant, Katie Baker.
