As artists, storytellers, and community members, we recognize the importance of Juneteenth as a celebration of freedom, culture, history, and expression.

This weekend, Cincinnati is filled with opportunities to experience live music, spoken word, visual art, dance, community discussions, festivals, and cultural celebrations.

We encourage our theater family to get out, connect, learn, celebrate, and support the incredible Black artists, performers, creators, and organizations that make our community stronger.

Disney's 1994 filmThe Lion King is coming to Cincinnati, Ohio as Tony Award-winning director Julie Taymor brings to life a story filled with hope and adventure on Broadway. The Lion King features some of Broadway's most recognizable music, crafted by Tony Award-winning artist Elton John and Tim Rice. This week is the inauguration of Cincinnati Climate Week - a week of events, ideas and climate solutions designed to inspire action and strengthen communities in attempt to bring people and organizations together across Greater Cincinnati.

This week will host several events with opportunities to connect, learn, explore, and take action. You can attend networking events and expert discussions, tour innovative local projects, enjoy family-friendly activities and community festivals, volunteer in the community, or discover new ideas through workshops, films and hands-on experiences.

As we wrap up AAPI Heritage Month, we reflect on the importance of celebrating the diverse cultures, experiences, and perspectives that enrich our communities. Through our conversation with Pimann Kongsomboon, we gained insight into the pride he holds for his Thai heritage, the values of respect and sincerity that have shaped his life, and the importance of challenging stereotypes through understanding and open dialogue. His story serves as a reminder that representation is about embracing who you are with pride and dignity while creating opportunities for others to learn, connect, and grow. We want to thank Pimann, for sharing your story, your perspective, and your culture with us.
