Music Live at Lunch: Christ Church Cathedral

Music Live at Lunch: Christ Church Cathedral Free, noontime music performances of 30-40 minutes by a variety of performers. New to Live at Lunch? Well here's what it's all about about.

Every Tuesday, September through May, we host a free, noontime performance held in either our chapel or sanctuary. Each week offers something different: From Jazz to Classical, Indian to Native American, hopefully we'll have something that strikes your fancy. However, if you don't see anything that sparks an interest, let us know what would, and we'll see what we can do. Our address is 318 E. 4th St., downtown Cincinnati (right across the street from the Great American Insurance building). Feel free to bring a lunch, or purchase one ($7) at the venue.

We're particularly excited about this concert, friends, and we'll let the Cincinnati Dancing Pigs describe themselves:

"The Cincinnati Dancing Pigs are Cincinnati’s premier Jug Band. They have been around since the early years of the Rolling Stones, have lasted longer than the Beatles and have more living members than the Grateful Dead. In the Cincinnati Enquirer they were once compared to the Julliard String Quartet, although not favorably. They have played at every Tall Stacks, at the Cincinnati Bicentennial Celebration, for the runners in the Flying Pig Marathon, many times in the summer concert series at the amphitheater in Eden Park, for the Art Museum, for a sit down dinner on the observation deck of the Carew Tower, and in many bars, back yards and living rooms throughout the area. From country club weddings to pig roasts to 4th of July parties, they have shamelessly wound up audiences at every variety of event."

This one is not to be missed! See you at 12:10pm (or before for lunch, which is always available for purchase. $7. You know the drill by now)!

Join us today for our final (!!) concert of the 25-26 season, featuring the Clarinet, Piano, and Violin musings of the OLEA ensemble. A great note (pun fully intended) on which to end our season.

We will pick up the next season (our 55th, if I have done my math correctly) on September 8th.

A bit of American History for you, Music Live: On this day in 1777, confectioner Philip Lenzi placed the first ever advertisement for ice cream in this country. The ad ran in the New York Gazette (pictured below). What better way to celebrate this fact than to listen to some tunes from the Great American Songbook?

Join us this afternoon for a lovely concert featuring just that, to be performed by the Nick Greenberg Trio

As always, lunch is available for purchase ($7) and the music starts at 12:10pm.
