Today marks the first day of fall here in Cincinnati! 🍂

Fall is a great time to plant new trees thanks to the cooler temperatures and warm soil, which encourage root growth without putting stress on the sapling. 🌳

☀️ Our crews powered through the extreme heat this week, and we couldn't let them head into the long holiday weekend without a little thank you!

So, we wrapped the day early with some Kona Ice!

🍂 Fall is almost here in Cincinnati! 🍁

At GFLI, we’re looking forward to cooler weather, fun community events, and the changing leaves, but did you know fall is also a great time to give your trees some extra attention?

- Cooler temperatures put less stress on newly planted trees, making fall an ideal time to add new trees to your landscape. 🌱
- With leaves beginning to fall, your tree’s structure and overall crown become easier to see, making it a great time to identify potential concerns. 🔎
- Cooler weather can mean fewer disease-carrying insects, creating a better window for certain pruning needs. 🪵

Whether you’re planting, pruning, or simply checking in on the health of your trees, fall is the perfect season to get ahead of potential problems and help your landscape thrive.

What are you most looking forward to this fall? 🍂

🌳🐾 While surveying storm damage over the past few weeks, our crews performed a few unexpected rescue missions.

First, our arborists became aware of a raccoon who was trapped and separated from her kits. Our team safely freed her and got her back on her way.

Then came three baby squirrels who had fallen from their nest. We rescued them and safely delivered them to a local wildlife shelter.

Animal rescues may not be part of the everyday job, but when wildlife needs help, we’re happy to lend a hand!🌳💚

📚 Back to school, and back to safety! 🌳

As the school year gets underway in Cincinnati, our crews continue to sharpen their skills through monthly safety training.

During last month’s training, our teams focused on two essential pieces of equipment used regularly on our job sites: chainsaws 🪚 and mini skid steers (Dingos) 🚜.

Safety is a core part of what we do, which is why we prioritize monthly training covering equipment, job-site procedures, and best practices for our landscaping, tree care, and plant health care teams.

We do this to keep our crews safe, our customers protected, and our work performed to the highest standard. 🌿
