To believe with all our heart in our people, our parents, our teachers, our leaders, and the righteousness and victory of our struggle.

Faith is paramount in making it through any struggle or success in life.

Kwanzaa is an African American and Pan-African holiday celebrating history, values, family, community, and culture. This week-long celebration was created in 1966 by Maulana Ron Karenga. The ideas and concepts of Kwanzaa are expressed in the Swahili language, one of the most widely spoken languages in Africa.

The word Kwanzaa derives from a Swahili phrase, “matunda ya kwanza” or first fruits, and is framed around seven guiding principles, or the Nguzo Saba, Swahili for seven principles.
