Cincinnati Music Theatre is now accepting director submissions for our 2027–2028 Season!

We welcome submissions from directors of all experience levels and encourage creative, thoughtful proposals that align with our mission of bringing quality musical theatre to the Greater Cincinnati community.

PRODUCTION OPPORTUNITIES:

FALL 2027 MAINSTAGE: Our Fall production has been pre-selected, but we ARE seeking a director for this show. Due to licensing restrictions, we are unable to publicly announce the title at this time.

This beloved Broadway musical features a large ensemble, powerful storytelling, and an unforgettable score. Interested directors should contact [email protected] for additional information. Confidentiality will be required until the official announcement.

SPRING 2028 MAINSTAGE: To complement our Fall production, we are particularly interested in stories that are feel-good, funny, hopeful, joyful, fun, or uplifting. These are guiding themes rather than strict requirements, and we welcome proposals that offer a compelling alternative!

STUDIO SERIES: Seeking two original works and one licensed musical for our September, January/February, and March production windows.

In Harmony, is a musical journey where life and song blend seamlessly. This Studio Series event celebrates musical theatre favorites from every era, chosen to highlight how harmony is something we create together. After all, true harmony only emerges when voices unite.

In Harmony includes songs from: Waitress, Book of Mormon, Oliver, Carrie, Hamilton, Avenue Q, Songs for a New World, Suffs, Wicked, Six, Hadestown, Newsies, Spring Awakening, and more!

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:
Sing a 32 Bar cut (:30-:45 seconds) of a musical theatre song that you love to sing. An accompanist will be provided; please provide sheet music with cuts clearly marked.
No A Ca****la or Recorded music.
Auditionees must be at least 18 years of age.

Sunday, September 27, 2026 from 5:00PM to 9:00PM
Monday, September 28, 2026 from 7:00PM to 10:00PM
