🎶REPLAY May Festival returns this weekend on 90.9 WGUC!

📻Tune in at 8PM ET this SUN (OCT 4) to listen to our 2026 May Festival opening concert, AN ECLECTIC OPENING NIGHT!

Conducted by Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Music Director Cristian Macelaru, Festival Director Julia Bullock, baritone Sankara Harouna, baritone Norman Garrett, composer Carlos Simon, May Festival Associate Director of Choruses Jason Alexander Holmes, the Orchestra and the voices of the May Festival Chorus combine to bring you a powerful celebration of music from across centuries and genres, reflecting the Festival’s storied past while boldly stepping into its future.

Anton Bruckner’s Psalm 150 sets the tone with a fanfare of voices, then anchored by the words of Langston Hughes and fellow Harlem Renaissance poets, the evening traverses spiritual depths, culminating in a work of the May Festival’s own curation — the “Eclectic Mass” — a collection of pieces from the sacred music tradition, including a vibrant new Sanctus from Grammy-nominated composer, Carlos Simon.

Listen locally on 90.9 WGUC or online at wguc.org.
