Visionaries + Voices supports the careers of artists with disabilities in Greater Cincinnati. The majority of the 150+ artists are self-taught.

V+V has two locations, Northside & Tri-County, both in the Greater Cincinnati Region. Both studios are large open spaces that provide support for artists to come, use materials supplied by V+V, and create artwork. The staff at V+V are well versed in art and provide a safe place for everyone to come together to be creative. V+V organizes art exhibitions throughout Cincinnati at museums, galleries, coffee houses, and office spaces. Throughout the year V+V organizes over 50+ art exhibitions!

V+V Northside artists enjoyed visiting the Contemporary Arts Center to explore the galleries with an amazing tour by curator maria seda-reeder for an in depth look at the work by Gee Horton Studios Chapter 4, In Another Lifetime, Michael Stillion And then it was flowers, and Sarah Rodriguez Homespun 🤯👻✍️🎨🌸

Calling all puppeteers, burlesque performers, and freaky experimental performance artists! Visionaries + Voices is taking submissions for our upcoming SHOW OF HANDS Puppet Cabaret, happening October 10th at the Northside Tavern.

Apply to be a part of the sexiest, grossest, and most absurd ADULTS ONLY Puppet Cabaret on this side of the Mill Creek. All acts must contain a handmade puppet or object and be 5 minutes or less. Complete the form in our bio to submit your application DUE August 31st. Submissions will be reviewed and juried by Visionaries + Voices artists and staff, and notified by Sept 4th.

Connect at the Cincinnati Art Museum for Sensory Saturday, Aug 22nd!
Meet in the Great Hall at 11am for a multi sensory tour through the galleries and then create artwork inspired by the tour with V+V TAP artist, Brian Bitter. This program is specifically designed for adults with developmental disabilities and their caregivers.

The Gothic house of your dreams 🖤🏰🥀
Joy's mystical approach is evident in any medium she chooses to work with. She works deftly in ceramics, hand-building gothic “fairy houses” that look like they could be straight out of a Grimm’s Brothers’ book. This one-of-a-kind house designed and hand-built by Joy is accented beautifully with metallic bronze color.

Puppets can be made of ANYTHING! ♻️💡🛠️
Join us on Saturday, Aug 29th from 1-3pm, for a workshop on Upcycled Puppetry with Zoë Peterson + Savannah Martin at V+V Northside Studio. Together we will create puppets out of found materials and bring them to life through crafting and characterization! We'll be building these puppets using “trash”- think cardboard, scrap fabric, etc. and they can range from shadow puppets to more traditional, hand puppet styles.

If you have no experience - never fear! You’ll be guided throughout the entire design and building process. Now, who’s ready to bring their creations to life?

Art Enables Art Enables welcomes independent artists and those from progressive art studios around the country for their 20th annual exhibition of work by self-taught artists! Featured artists include individuals who are emerging and self-taught, are from traditionally underrepresented communities, and those with disabilities. All have paved their own way in the formation of their work, representing personal experiences and interests in individual styles developed outside the conventions of mainstream art education and culture.
