What a day!
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out and made our very first Happen Kids Market such a huge success!
And a BIG congratulations to all of the young entrepreneurs who worked so hard to create their wares, set up their displays and get ready to open for business. You made it Happen!
Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shopped, encouraged the kids and showed them that their ideas and hard work matter.

A special thank you to Deeper Roots Coffee, Brinkley & Brinkley, and all of the parents who supported the kids and helped make the day possible.

And yes...
We’re going to do it again!

THE HAPPEN KIDS MARKET IS TOMORROW!
Just a reminder that Happen's Toy Lab and Happen’s Open Studio will be closed tomorrow for this special event, but we’ve been asked several times if the Happen Do Good Program is still happening.

YES! And there will be TWICE as much fresh produce available!

The Do Good table will be set up in the Kids Market, right next to the complimentary coffee from Deeper Roots Coffee, so you can shop the Kids Market, grab some coffee and do a little good all at the same time.

Here’s how Happen's Do Good program works.

Pick out some fresh vegetables harvested from the Do Good Garden.
Write down one good thing you’re going to do and put it in our mason jar.
Then fill your bag with fresh garden produce harvested from Happen's Do Good Garden.

It’s simple. Do something good, take home some good food and keep the good going.

KIDS MEAN BUSINESS!

Our Happen Kids Market is LESS THAN TWO DAYS AWAY!
Think of it as six lemonade stands all in one place, except instead of lemonade, these kids are selling their own wares!
Six young entrepreneurs have been making, growing, collecting and planning to get their businesses ready. Now it’s almost time to open for business!

Here’s a little sneak peek at what you might find:
Love Northside Alleys? Be the first to buy an alley button!
Want to start a native garden? Plants starting at just $2!
Fashion accessories and wearable art like you’ve never seen!
Flowers by the stem!

And that’s just a little taste of what these young entrepreneurs have been getting ready to sell.

Thanks to Deeper Roots Coffee, there will be complimentary coffee for shoppers!

Saturday, October 3
10 AM–1 PM
Happen Flower Garden, 1618 Chase Ave.

Six kids. Six little businesses. One Kids Market.

IT’S PUMPKIN TIME AT HAPPEN!
If you’ve been coming to Happen for a while, you know what this means...
It’s time to make your clay pumpkin!
Making a pumpkin at Happen has become a fall tradition for a lot of kids and families. It’s one of those projects we look forward to every year.
This week we’re also making birds inspired by Cincinnati artist Charlie Harper. His simple shapes and bold ideas make birds especially fun to create.
Create your own ceramic jack-o-lantern and make a Charlie Harper inspired bird!
Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday
4–7 PM
Open Studio is FREE for kids 6–12 with a parent. No reservations. Materials are provided.

The latest episode of KMNH- Kids Making the News Happen is here!
Layla takes the anchor desk for the first time and reports on Happen’s Flower Garden. Joey reports on the last day of Putz’s Creamy Whip and the upcoming end of the season for DoJo Gelato.
We also take a look at the history of Happen’s Outside Space and how it has changed over the years.
And this episode is a special one for Jasper. After growing up with KMNH, Jasper has officially aged out of the Happen teen programs and signs off for the last time as he heads off to college.
We’re going to miss having Jasper as part of KMNH, but we’re excited to see where his next adventure takes him.
Watch the latest KMNH and meet the young reporters of Happen!

Good Things Grow Here
What if you could fill a bag with fresh vegetables and not spend a penny?
At Happen, you pay with a promise to do something good. That’s why it’s called the Do Good Garden.
Our Teen Garden Club grows and harvests fresh vegetables, and during the harvest season, those vegetables are available every Saturday morning starting at 11 a.m. at Happen’s Studio at 4201 Hamilton Ave.
Kids can write down one good thing they will do that day, put it in our jar, and then fill a bag with fresh vegetables from the garden.
Write your good deed. Put it in the jar. Fill your bag with vegetables. Then go out and make it happen!
At Thanksgiving, we’ll turn all those good deeds into a giant poster in Happen’s front window, so our whole community can see just how much good came from the garden.
Happen’s theme:
Community is not just where you live. It’s how you live with other people.
