The Foles are playing TrailFest. Chill acoustic, outdoors, under a timber shelter built in the 1930s with mature canopy all around it.

Bring a blanket. There is a lot of grass and nobody is going to tell you to move.

Sept 26, noon to 4, Cindee Walsh Circle. Free.

The UC Ornithology Club is leading a birdwatching hike at TrailFest, and they're bringing extra binoculars for anyone who doesn't have a pair. So the only thing you need to bring is yourself.

Late September is migration, which means birds are moving through Mt. Airy that aren't here in July. You don't need to know a single species to come along. The club is a student group built around community, education, and conservation, and they're used to people who've never done this before.

Free, no sign-up. Sept 26 at Cindee Walsh Circle. Hike time coming soon.

Saturday, Sept 26, Mt. Airy Forest throws the best backyard party in Cincinnati. Take a slow forest therapy walk that ends with tea, or head out with a UC tree scientist and the campus birders. Kids can flip creek rocks, meet live animals, and chase down a scavenger hunt. Try a disc golf putt or an adaptive mountain bike. Then grab a cold b**r, a tamale from Jenn's Hot Tamale, a Honey Child pop, and settle in with The Foles.

Free, 12PM–4PM. No gear needed. Sturdy shoes and water are plenty. Park at Cindee Walsh Circle, off Colerain Ave.

Tag the friend who keeps saying they want to get outside more.

"The forest is the therapist; the guide opens the door”.

A Forest Therapy Stroll involves tuning into your senses, moving slowly, exploring the natural world through guided invitations, and connecting with community through sharing circles and tea. Scientific studies show that immersing oneself in the natural world benefits physical and mental well-being. Along with health and wellness benefits, forest therapy also encourages new and strengthened relationships with nature, community, and oneself.

Led by Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT) Certified Forest Therapy Guide, Madison Lindsay - Miss Madison to her campers.

Madison has over a decade of experience in inclusive outdoor recreation and education, including 8 years as a National Association for Interpretation Certified Interpretive Guide and over 7 years leading natural history, cultural history, and adventure programs at the NRPA Gold Award-winning park system, Metroparks Toledo. Madison now proudly calls Cincinnati home and owns and operates her own organization, Play Wild. Play Wild works with community organizations, schools, families, and individuals to create inclusive and accessible nature programs. For questions, contact [email protected]

Making way for something new! 🏗️ After years of preparation, Mt Airy CURE—in partnership with the City of Cincinnati and The Port—is officially clearing the Gateway site at the southeast corner of Colerain and North Bend.

Step one is removing these dilapidated buildings to pave the way for future development. We’ve heard you loud and clear: this important corner needs a unique anchor that serves the community. We are currently interviewing potential development partners to make that vision a reality.
