For our first journey into Oklahoma's darker history, we explore the legend of Dead Woman's Crossing near Weatherford, Oklahoma.

What makes this story different is that behind the ghost stories is a very real tragedy. In 1905, Katie DeWitt James disappeared while traveling through western Oklahoma. Weeks later, her remains were discovered near Big Deer Creek, creating one of Oklahoma's most enduring mysteries. More than a century later, stories of strange lights, unexplained cries, and a woman searching for her child still surround the crossing.

Was it murder?
Was it a cover-up?
And why does this place continue to haunt Oklahoma folklore?
