Spanish Trail Playhouse The Spanish Trail Playhouse is a 501(c)3 non profit organization & community theatre located in Chipley, Florida.

The Spanish Trail Playhouse, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is Washington County’s only all-volunteer community theatre, dedicated to bringing high-quality live performances to the region. Established in 1962 and recognized in 1964 by the Florida Arts Council as a charter member, the Playhouse originally operated until 1968, staging renowned productions such as Carousel, Oklahoma!, and The So

und of Music. Revived in 2007 under the leadership of Kevin Russell, the Playhouse reopened in 2008 with Steel Magnolias and found its permanent home in the historic Chipley High School Auditorium. Now in its 18th season, the Playhouse continues to enrich the community through musicals, plays, artist series, and concerts. What an incredible ride Murder on the Orient Express has been! From the first clue to the final reveal, we are so thankful to everyone who came out, packed the house, shared our posts, cheered on this cast, and supported live theatre right here in our community.

🎉 Happy Birthday to Valerie Park! 🎉

Today we celebrate someone whose heart, generosity, and dedication have helped shape Spanish Trail Playhouse from the very beginning.

As one of our founding board members, Valerie has been a constant source of support, encouragement, and kindness throughout the years. Her belief in community theatre and in the people who make it possible has touched countless lives both on and off the stage.

Valerie currently serves as our Hospitality Chairperson, opening not only her home but also her heart as she graciously hosts each cast party—a beautiful tradition lovingly carried on from her mother, Madalene Culpepper. Through her hospitality, she creates spaces where memories are made, friendships grow, and our theatre family gathers together.

And because Valerie is simply Valerie, even today—on her birthday—she is hosting a cast party! That kind of selflessness, love, and commitment to our theatre family says everything about who she is.

Valerie, thank you for the countless ways you give to Spanish Trail Playhouse and to everyone who walks through our doors. We hope your birthday is filled with the same warmth, joy, and love that you share with so many others.
