Another local business to like and follow!
Hey there, Brave Girl! ❤️
I wanted to take a moment to simply say THANK YOU for 9 incredible years in business.
And for those of you who are new around here, or maybe don't know much about me or the story behind Brave Girl Boutique, I wanted to introduce myself.
I'm Amy — the owner and founder of Brave Girl Boutique.
We recently celebrated 9 years in business, and I honestly couldn't be more grateful to still be here doing what I love.
What started as a dream tucked away in my heart for many years finally came to life in 2017. Funny enough, my high school yearbook predicted I'd do something in retail one day—and here we are. As we all know, sometimes things have to happen at the right time, in the right place, and simply feel right.
If there's one thing I've learned, it's that owning a business is one of the most rewarding and life-changing experiences. It's beautiful, exciting, challenging, and sometimes incredibly heavy. Much like life itself, except the weight often rests on your shoulders and your mind long after the day is over.
I'm a deep thinker, a passionate person, and someone who cares deeply about this business and the people who support it. My heart is always thinking about my customers, and I continue to be amazed by the loyalty, encouragement, and support you've shown throughout the years.
Since I'm introducing myself, here's a little bit about me. My personal style has always leaned classic. I'm a girl who loves the colors green and black, and you'll usually find me wearing something timeless with a little edge mixed in. Whether it's a great pair of shoes, a statement belt, or an extra layer that pulls everything together, I'm always here for those little details that make an outfit feel special.
Many of you have watched Brave Girl grow from the early days into what it is today. Nine years ago, the boutique world looked a lot different than it does now. We've grown, evolved, adapted, and been stretched beyond measure at times. I've cried, prayed, worried, hoped, and always continued moving forward.
One of the things that means the most to me is hearing customers say that Brave Girl feels different. Many of you tell me you love that our pieces are unique and not things you see everywhere else. You appreciate finding styles that work for everyday life while also discovering those special pieces that elevate your look and make you feel confident.
That has always been my goal. I want you to walk into Brave Girl and find pieces that feel wearable, timeless, and special all at the same time. Hearing that we've accomplished that means more to me than you'll ever know.
One of the best pieces of advice I received early on was to stay in my own lane and keep my eyes straight ahead. Looking back, it's advice I'm incredibly grateful for because it's exactly how I've chosen to run this business.
I've never believed there's only room for one of us to succeed. I genuinely love supporting other small businesses and find so much inspiration in what they create, build, and accomplish. Instead of focusing on what everyone else is doing, I've always tried to stay focused on our customers, our vision, and creating the best experience possible for the women who walk through our doors or shop with us online.
What has always mattered most to me is creating curated collections you genuinely love and want to come back for. The look and feel of the store is incredibly important to me too. I want it to feel clean, organized, welcoming, and easy to shop. Every market we attend and every collection we view is done with YOU in mind.
Some of you have never stepped foot inside the store but faithfully shop online. Some of you drive an hour or two for your Brave Girl fix. Some of you like, comment on, and share our posts. Some of you cheer us on from afar.
No matter how you support us, please know this: you matter, and I never take it for granted.
If you've ever owned a business—or loved someone who does—you know it takes a tremendous amount of sweat equity, sleepless nights, sacrifices, and faith. The retail world has changed so much over the years, and if I could ask one thing of you, it would be this:
Please continue supporting your local small businesses. We need you, and we rely on you to help keep our doors open.
Brave Girl employs three amazing women who help make this business what it is. If you've visited the store, you've likely met them, and you know how wonderful they are. I'm so grateful for each of them.
This business has brought incredible joy, but it has also carried me through some of the hardest seasons of my life.
We made it through 2020. During that same season, I survived a car accident, experienced the heartbreaking loss of my son, and then endured another car accident five months later.
Through every challenge, I reminded myself that the name behind this business wasn't just a name.
Brave Girl.
It became a reminder to live out the very word brave when every part of me wanted to run the other direction.
Instead, I chose to keep going—with perseverance, faith, family, friends, and this business helping carry me through.
This business has taught me so much over the last nine years, but more than anything, it has shown me the power of community. The relationships, conversations, friendships, and support that have come from Brave Girl are something I will never stop being thankful for.
So today, I want you to take a moment and pat yourself on the back, too.
Because you helped keep us here.
You have supported us, encouraged us, believed in us, and loved us through every season.
For that, I will be forever grateful.
We love you. We appreciate you. And we can't wait to see what Year 10 has in store.
With love,
Amy ❤️
