Our ladies group, the Namelok Ladies told us, “The word Namelok means “something sweet” in the Masai language.” In the shadow of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Kenya, East Africa, the Namelok women’s group chose the name because they said, “Where God is, you will find something sweet.”
Through the provision of a microloan, the women started a soap-making business, providing affordable soap to their community and donating soap to local school children. While this soap was made in the USA, your purchase directly supports the Namelok women’s group and helps to start more groups like Namelok to empower vulnerable women and provide affordable, sustainable resources to prevent life-threatening diseases in rural indigenous communities in East Africa.
