The Potter's House - Chillicothe NO LONGER IN OPERATION The Potter's House is a faith-based ceramics studio. Our mission is to encourage people by teaching them to create pottery.

We offer pottery classes, parties, and workshops in clay for people of all ages and experience levels. The Potter’s House is rooted in interpersonal relationships. We seek to provide opportunities for these relationships to develop using the teaching of pottery making as a means of drawing close to others and sharing Christ’s love.

We have exciting news to share about our donation results! As many of you know, The Potter’s House closed its doors for good in October. We're thrilled to announce that we were able to donate nearly $4K in proceeds to both Elizabeth's Hope Women's Center and Good Samaritan Network of Ross County. Your support continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people in our community. Thank you!

The Potter’s House, a faith based 501(c)3 ministry, would like to announce that we have officially closed.

Due to unforeseen events, our lease was terminated and we have been unable to secure a new location for the pottery. After considerable thought and prayer, the decision was made to close our doors.

The volunteer staff would like to thank the Chillicothe community for your support over the years by taking our classes, buying completed pottery and for your monetary cash donations. We would also like to thank the churches within our community that have helped to support our mission. It was your support that allowed us to survive for so long.

We have greatly enjoyed being a part of the vibrant Chillicothe downtown community for the past 11 years. We again say “thank you” for your support and that we are sincerely grateful to have been a part of Chillicothe community for so many years.

It is with great sadness that we announce the temporary closing of The Potter’s House. As we discuss our future and search for a new home, we will be cancelling all upcoming classes and only be open with the purpose of helping people complete projects that are already in motion. If you are working on a pottery project, please direct message us to set up a time to complete the project. All projects must be completed and picked up before 9/30.

We are looking for a new location to operate our community-focused pottery studio. If you know of any real estate available to house our studio or would be willing to help us move to a new location, please direct message us.

We have loved serving the Chillicothe area. Follow our page for updates on our future endeavors. Thank you so much for creating with us!

Our Story

The Potter’s House is a volunteer run Christian Ministry serving our community by offering affordable pottery instruction for individuals and groups in order to promote creativity, individual expression, skill-building, and a therapeutic outlet in a peaceful environment.

The Potter’s House is rooted in interpersonal relationships. We seek to provide opportunities for these relationships to develop using the teaching of pottery making as a means of drawing close to others and sharing Christ’s love.

The Potter’s House has been established as a program ministry of Alter, Inc., a faith-based not-for-profit corporation.

A number of partner churches have emerged to help support this ministry financially. If you or your organization wish to consider supporting this ministry, contact program director Father Rick Terry at 740-406-0983.
