QUAIL TRAIL

My dad called this path "Quail Trail."

Why?

Because it seemed like every game there was a group of players who would get nervous, head down this trail, and hide in the back corner of the field.

Before long, they'd be bunched up together like a covey of quail, hoping nobody noticed them.

Unfortunately, that usually led to a big win for the other team.

My dad was always quick to offer a little advice:

"Don't back yourself into a corner, and damn sure don't follow a crowd there."

"If you're going to win, you've got to get in the game."

"Keep moving forward."

Whether it was paintball or life, he believed you had a better chance of success when you stayed engaged, took a chance, and kept moving forward.

What's the best advice your dad ever gave you?

ONE FAMILY. ONE FIELD. ONE LEGACY.

A hat worn by my dad.
A hat worn by me.

Their first dollar.
Our first dollar.

Different signs.
Different gear.
Different seasons.
Different stories.

But the same foundation.

The same field.
The same passion.
The same belief that paintball should be a place where memories are made.

What we have today exists because of what came before it.

This Father's Day, I'm grateful for the dream that started it all, the lessons learned along the way, and the people who helped build it.

Do you remember these old bunkers?
 
Even though they were built for hiding, I can't help but see my dad in them.

These bunkers are still standing on our woodland field today—a reminder of the dream, hard work, and memories that helped shape this place.

What did you call this bunker, and what was your strategy when you played here?

While the paintball dream started with my dad, Unique Distractions Paintball became a reality because of the hard work and dedication of both my parents.

This field has always been a family effort and still is today at Extraction Paintball in Childress, LLC.
