Don’t be shy! Enter 1078 Gallery’s Cat Show with your cat art.

Anyone can enter their art into The 3rd Annual Northern California (Mock) Cat Show! We welcome new work and old work alike! Did you take a cute photo of your feline friend last week? Did you draw hundreds of cats during the pandemic? Did your Gigi teach you how to cross stitch a kitten in 1998? Did you sculpt a clay cat in high school in 1976? Do you know someone who did?

Please visit our website for guidelines. Fill out the online form and bring your cat artwork in on September 14th or 15th.

“Currently, my work is focusing in on the shared experience of being a woman. With my work I hope to evoke thoughts of assumed fragility and hidden strength, the push and pull between the social constructs of toughness and tenderness. The interplay of the power to overcome and the power to oppress is important in my works, some pieces being visceral and in your face while others offer a more subversive and subtle experience like that of the undercurrents and unspoken truths of a culture. I hope that my work can share with another the feelings of being seen, and heard, that it might spark thoughts for those without a woman’s perspective that the themes in my work are felt by almost all women.”
