As we anxiously wait for the 2027 dates, we would like to announce a new division!!

We will be having a Beef Replacement Heifer Show & Sale in 2027!!

Please keep this in mind while you are searching for your 2027 beef project animals. Exhibitors will be able to sell a Beef Replacement Heifer in addition to their market animals.

Heifer Eligibility
Registered or grade beef replacement heifers are eligible projects. Grade heifers must be without horns. The sire and dam of the heifer must be of a beef breed. If an exhibitor declares that the heifer is registered, the registration papers must be signed off and submitted to the Livestock Office before the heifer will be allowed to sell. Heifers must be bred and purchased from a breeder in Yuba, Sutter, Butte, Colusa, Placer, Nevada, Tehama or Glenn County.
The age limit for a heifer is a minimum of 15 months and a maximum of 30 months on the opening day of the fair. Heifers must weigh a minimum of 900 pounds at the weigh-in during the fair and be bred to calve between August 1 thru December 31. The exhibitor is required to provide the fair staff at the scales the paperwork confirmed pre-check performed by a vet or professional A.I. Technician within 10 days of the first day of the fair.
Those heifers that do not meet criteria will be disqualified from show competition and immediately released from the fairgrounds.

Ownership Requirements and Project Agreement
The project members must have ownership of their heifer no later than 120 days before fair. Heifers must be entered and tagged by the entry deadline date to be eligible. The original Bill of Sale and brand inspection must be retained by the exhibitor and presented to the State Brand Inspector at the Fair.

Breeding and Project Management
Heifers must be bred to calve between August 1st thru December 31, 2027. Heifers that are not bred within the specified calving times will be disqualified from show competition. Heifers may be bred naturally, or by artificial insemination. They should be bred to bulls with low birth weights in order to reduce difficulty in calving. It is important that members have dates written down as to when the heifer was exposed to that bull and any data that could be beneficial to the potential buyer.

We want to extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for our Buyer Appreciation Dinner. We had a wonderful turnout, and it was truly special to have so many of the people who support our Fair, our Junior Livestock program, and our community all together in one place.

Our Livestock Expo simply wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support of our buyers, exhibitors, volunteers, sponsors, board members, families, community partners, and everyone who gives their time and support throughout the year. You are a huge part of what makes all of this possible.

As we get ready to close out another great year, we’re already looking ahead. We are incredibly excited about the future and everything that’s in store for 2027 and beyond! There are some exciting things ahead, and we can’t wait to experience them with all of you.

From all of us at the Silver Dollar Fair, thank you for continuing to show up, support our youth, support our Fair, and be part of this tradition.

WOW!!! We are so thankful for our amazing buyers, and the ease of using Showman. We are down to TWELVE, only 12 unpaid invoices!!!! We aren’t even 60 days out, AWESOME 🤩🤩🤩

The main office is closed today (unexpectedly). We will resume check distribution on Monday at 9 am!

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

If you are from out of the area, you can put thank you notes through the mail slot on the office door, and we will mail your check first thing Monday.

Junior Livestock Auction checks are ready for pick up in the main fair office!! We will be here today until 5:30 pm, and the rest of the week during normal business hours (7:30 am - 3:30 pm)!

Dear Valued Livestock Exhibitors,

All Junior Livestock Auction checks will be available for pick up Monday - July 6th in the MAIN office from 10 am to 5:30 pm. After that, checks will be available in the main office during business hours (M-F, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm). If you are not able to make it during business hours, please put your thank you notes through the mail slot on the office door, and your check will be mailed promptly!

It is REQUIRED that a thank you note (stamped and addressed) is submitted for each buyer and add on contributor. An email went out last week from Showman with your payout summary including buyer/add on names and addresses.

Some clubs/chapters are picking up their checks and distributing based on their own requirements!

PREMIUM CHECKS (for breeding exhibitors) will be mailed next week.

An email went out to leaders stating that checks would be available in the livestock office, with slightly different hours - DISREGARD!!
MAIN OFFICE - 10 am to 5:30 pm to accommodate working parents.
