with a little red twist. Redtwist’s mission is to do searing hot drama, in a tiny black box, with a little red twist.

A non-profit organization, we traditionally perform five mainstage plays per season, focusing on edgy American classics, casting primarily from our venerable ensemble and leveraging our intimate space as if it were the final character in the play. To date, Redtwist has produced 68 Main season plays at its Bryn Mawr location, some as classically groundbreaking as WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? (3

Jeff Nominations for actors), as intense and ever timeless as Arthur Miller’s INCIDENT AT VICHY (Jeff Nominated ensemble), and as original as the Chicago Premiere of RABBIT SUMMER (Jeff Recommended). During Redtwist’s time in the heart of Edgewater’s Bryn Mawr Historic District, its 68 productions have received 50 Jeff nominations and won 9 Non-Equity Jeff Awards including one for Best Production for MAN FROM NEBRASKA in 2011.

☀️Jodie and Emma don’t want to live in the city any more, with dreams of a new life, a will to work hard, and a generous grant, they set out into a desertified landscape. They nurture their garden in a dying world, but between a scorching climate and a very hungry neighbor, farming provides more challenges than anticipated. The couple struggles to plant their own roots and comes to realize growing on dead land may be a bigger challenge than expected. Will a dying earth leave them deserted?☀️
