Overture Strings, led by Assistant Director of String Ensembles Anne Huynh McTighe, is the foundational block for many of our students - providing entry level string orchestra training to our youngest elementary school aged student musicians! For the majority of OS students, this is their first orchestral music experience. They learn to successfully navigate things like season and seating auditions, sectionals, and ensemble performances for the first time ever! It's incredible to see the growth in listening skills, rhythm, melodic independence, and group performance from Fall to Spring seasons.
