One year of Tap Artistry Project!
What began as an idea became movement ~
in the creative space, on stage, and within a growing community.
In one year…
a website launched,
private lessons grew,
and student dancers accepted to the Northeast Ohio Student Showcase with DANCECleveland.
We built opportunities to work anywhere ~
from photo shoots to tap boards designed for mobility and access.
We connected
through Tap Into the Network across Cleveland, at Motor City Tap Fest, and in Chicago with Bloch and Jason Samuels Smith.
We created
summer classes across levels,
solos choreographed and coached with high-scoring results,
fall / winter sessions,
a Halloween performance featuring Thriller and tap dancing skeletons,
and our first winter showcase.
We shared the work
through Voyage Magazine,
and in conversation with former student and professional dancer, Jessica Bally.
And with intention, we took a milestone step forward forming a professional tap company of alumni spanning 30 years, and were accepted to perform at Playhouse Square.
This is about sharing four decades of experience, craft, perspective, and understanding…
honoring the art form,
and making a lasting impact through tap.
Thank you to everyone who danced with us this past year!
