Hello, my name is Destiny and I'm the owner and photographer for DM Photography. According to my mom, I've had a passion for photography my whole life. She tells me that when I was little I would run around with a little pink Barbie camera taking pictures of things. I started getting really serious about it in High School, though. I knew I loved photography, but I read articles on Google (yes, tho
se dreadful articles you read because of curiosity.. that never actually give you the answers you’re looking for) that photography was best left as a hobby.. but I realized that no matter what online articles on Google said, it was my passion. My dream from the beginning was to become a professional photographer/photojournalist for National Geographic, and it is again my dream.. but now it’s starting to become a reality. I'm not sure I'll make it to NatGeo, but I would love to one day have my own magazine. I want to spread awareness around the world about things that are going on in different countries, and of places/people/cultures that are in need. I want to do missions with my photography, while spreading the word of Christ! In 2013 I traveled to Haiti and was able to photograph children receiving rice meals for their families, and it changed my life. That's when I realized photojournalism was my calling. I've recently been given an opportunity to go to Africa to do photojournalism work, and I'm extremely excited (https://www.gofundme.com/destinytoafrica).
