Only a few spots left!

After the success of Hadestown: Teen Edition, Surging Films & Theatrics is back this summer with a 2 week musical theater intensive production of Spring Awakening. Students will receive audition feedback, advanced training, and valuable knowledge over the 2 week program - culminating in 4 performances at the popular Theater Wit venue in Chicago.

Auditions for our 2026 Summer Season are now live!

Surging Films & Theatrics is holding auditions for their 2026 Non-Equity Summer Season of The Elephant Man and Newsies. All roles are paid stipends.

Local Chicagoland hires only (no housing or travel provided). We encourage performers of all ethnicities, identities, ages, and abilities to attend.

All performances will take place at Theater Wit for our summer 2026 productions.

Video submissions will be accepted until March 15th.

🥂 As 2025 comes to a close, we reflect on another significantly special season. Legally Blonde and RENT were incredible theatrical feats and I can’t thank .tab, , , , and enough for their work in making these productions happen behind the scenes. Thank you to the for recognizing our productions each season. We ventured back into the film world with the first ever which was a mega hit and we also filmed a tv pilot in Michigan. Stay tuned in 2026 for more film frenzy and the release of our film. Huge thanks to all our casts and crews and volunteers. Especially huge thanks to my right hand (wo)man who leads the charge on many of these projects behind the scenes and to my parents who continue to support and believe in my vision. I’ll be honest - 2026 is going to be tough. Venue costs have raised nearly 5-10x. Availability has shrunk. The economy has pinched every pocket book and The Arts are the first thing cut always. We are figuring it out and hope to continue our run of creating memorable works. It may look different and we are going to have to get creative with it…but we always find a way. Thank you all for your continued support for the past decade+. Much love. 🥳
