Looking forward to seeing you tonight at Fotohof Artist Talk with VoicePrintz photographer Jean Hess.

We're also excited for a small intimate performance by members of Saint Astro, who will be performing at Ballydoyle tonight. Artists Bryan Daniel Joseph and Jason DeLancey will both have work on display and be in the gallery to meet you.

It's going to be a fun and inspiring evening with artists, musicians and friends.

Fotohof is on the corner of Lake Street and Spruce on the second floor, kitty-corner from the Dairy Queen. There is parking on Spruce and in the city lot behind Fotohof.

Unguarded Moments artist's statement:

"I enjoy people watching because I never know what I am going to see. More often than not, these days, people are on cell phones; talking, texting, or watching something - ubiquitously absent from the present moment.

During a visit to the Art Institute of Chicago in March of 2015, I found myself on a bench with another bench opposite me. I realized I had an opportunity to capture people just being people. I put my camera on my lap and, unbeknownst to the subjects, did multiple series of burst shots. The resulting work, "unguarded moments," is a select group of 12 photos that span 15 minutes.

The piece is presented in black and white in a minimalist manner and yet is dense in subject matter. We see life unfolding; people moving unguarded through space and time in a story that is universally recognizable across settings and circumstances."
