With just ONE DAY left before Opening Night, it’s about time you met the students who have been filling your feed with these posts. The Public Relations Crew consists of Outreach, who get the word out via social media, bulletin boards, and other means to raise awareness; Graphic Design, who brought you the poster images, merchandise available at the show, and the playbill that tells you who’s who; and Dramaturgy, who provide the whole Young Company with essential historical, cultural, and literary context that informs the work we all do together, as well as the lobby display you’ll see when you catch the show TOMORROW, FRIDAY, or after spring break at any of our six performances. Tickets to the play are FREE, but we sincerely hope you’ll consider a donation of just $10, or literally anything you can afford to show you believe that students making art is something worth a few bucks!

We all know what the actors do, because they are the most public face of the play, but it’s worth knowing just how much time and effort it takes to make the characters they play feel truthful and sincere. If they do their work effectively, audiences will not see their fellow classmates onstage, but Wendy Darling, the Lost Boys, and all the other essential characters that populate our story. Memorizing lines and practicing blocking is just the beginning of their work. The rest is playing the stakes of every scene, feeling genuine emotions, and opening themselves up so we can really feel the heartbreak and hope at the root of Lost Girl. We hope you’ll be there to let them cast their spell and transport you to the imaginative and emotional world of our play. Opening Night is just TWO DAYS AWAY. Tickets are FREE to experience their work, but we hope you’ll consider a donation of just $10, or whatever you can afford to help us keep bringing relevant stories to the stage!

Setting the mood, directing our attention, illuminating the actors and giving them a moment to shine onstage all falls to our amazing Lighting Crew. Whether they’re in the control booth or the catwalks high above the audience’s head, these intrepid students hang lights, cable and program them so the text and subtext of the story is clear. We are now entering TECH WEEK, with Opening Night just around the corner, and we would love to share their hard work with all of you. Join us for FREE, but we hope you’ll consider a donation of $10 or whatever you can afford to help us keep bringing illuminating tales to the stage!

This production would be so much more difficult without the steady hand of our Stage Management Team keeping the whole Company on track. Scheduling, taking notes, and facilitating communication among the 80 or so students working on the play is no easy task, but our SMs handle it with solid organization and good humor. It’s time we showed our appreciation. Opening night is now LESS THAN A WEEK away, and we invite you to find out what happens when Wendy Darling returns from Neverland! Tickets are FREE but we hope you’ll consider a donation of $10 or whatever you can afford to help us keep bringing stories to the stage!

It takes a lot of sketching, sewing, thrifting, sourcing, dying, and revising to stitch the Costume Crew’s ideas into the weave of our play. They’ve spent the past few months giving their all to tell the story of Wendy and the Lost Boys through a carefully constructed wardrobe. We are now just SEVEN days from Opening Night! Check out the emotional story of Lost Girl by Kimberly Belflower on either side of spring break. Tickets are FREE but we hope you’ll consider a donation of $10 or whatever you can afford to help us keep bringing stories to the stage!

Now that our show is entering its final stages, it’s about time that we thank the angelic teachers who generously donated their time to make our production as good as it can be. So much of our company is student-led and motivated that it can be hard to keep track of just how much Mr. Winkler, Ms. Libby, and Ms. Bumbul help out. From going over posts like these to make sure that their intended message gets out to giving our actors helpful notes on how to improve to managing the finances of our company, it is clear that we couldn’t do it without the help of these people. Special shout-out this show to Ms. Leki for playing the role of Wendy’s mom, as it makes the blocking and dialogue in this show feel so much more genuine when an actual mother plays this role. Thank you to the teachers who have given us tools and allowed us to use their classrooms for this show. Another group of people I'd like to thank is all the school staff, such as the janitors and school administrators. And last but certainly not least, thank you to the parents who volunteered to help us during the course of this production.
