First - The Revolution Theatre Company's Staged Reading Series program is meant to showcase new plays by up and coming playwrights on the cutting edge with basic production values, (not just reading from music stands, which is just not our thing) but with sound and lighting to give a more dr

amatic effect to the work giving the playwright and the audience a better idea of what a full mounting could possibly look like. Second - The program takes place in Chicago establishments that mutually support us as we do them, in the end raising the awareness of both. Third - We choose non-traditional establishments in order to awaken the general public (most times outside of the theater community) to "theater" that isn't just the classics. Something they may or may not have a familiarity with but, with the hopes of engaging and inspiring a new audience. SRS: Redux (founded 2013) - Is a scaled down version of the main SRS program

RTC MAIN MISSION: "produce theater from cutting edge playwrights from around the world, educating and broadening the communities view of artistic expression".
