On Saturday, 9/23/23 Culture Shock Chicago will be performing for Chicago Live 2023! We are so honored to share the stage with so many amazing Chicago companies ⭐️We will be performing at 2:30pm@on the East Stage and be sure to catch right before us at 2pm and stay for the at 3:00pm. Celebrating MLK Day with our teaching artist and his amazing students at Walker Elementary

Posted • This year's DCU theme was "It Starts with Me: Cultivating a Beloved Community Mindset to Transform Unjust Systems." Y.O.U.'s youth from Walker Elementary used the opportunity to demonstrate DCU's theme by utilizing hip-hop, spoken word, and dance performances to show leadership and kindness. The foundation of hip-hop begins with peace, love, unity, and respect, and Walker Elementary used all elements through dance to share positive expression and unique individuality. Outstanding performances!

It is with a heavy heart that we share that one of our gifted teaching artists, Andrew Coleman passed away on Friday 5/20/22. Drew was a talented dancer, teacher and mentor and Culture Shock is honored that he shared his gifts with us and his students. His own mentor, Kirby Reed, spoke of how much Drew was enjoying transitioning into the mentor role himself. Please join us in sending care and prayers to his family, friends and fellow members of the dance community as we honor his beautiful spirit 💜
