Introducing apprentices ANNA LABRIOLA and ANNIE LEDUC
•
Anna Labriola is an apprentice with CDI this summer and a dedicated dancer with over a decade of experience in various dance styles, including ballet, contemporary, modern, hip hop and jazz. Anna is a current senior at Loyola University Chicago majoring in both Dance and Exercise Science. She has worked with renowned artists such as Sarah Cullen-Fuller, Amy Wilkinson, Daniel Fetecua, and Sandra Kaufmann, and she has attended the American College Dance Association Conference twice while at Loyola. Anna’s dedication to her craft and her passion for storytelling through dance continue to drive her artistry.

Annie LeDuc is from northwest Wisconsin and a graduate of Loyola University Chicago with a B.A. in dance and a B.A. in advertising & public relations. During her studies at the Loyola Dance Program, she performed works by Martha Graham, Doris Humphrey, Dr. Amy Wilkinson, Mei-Kuang Chen, and Dominique Atwood. This is Annie’s first season as an apprentice with Concert Dance Inc. When she is not at the studio or taking a walk to the lakefront, Annie works at Tree House Humane Society as an Administrative Assistant.

Introducing new company dancer RYAN DICK
•
Ryan Dick (they/he) is from Crystal Lake, IL. Ryan is currently in their first season with Concert Dance and is also apart of Noumenon Dance Ensemble and Alluvion Dance Chicago. In 2023 Ryan had the opportunity to work with Imani English and Eduardo Zambrana as a part of New Dances. Ryan recently made their choreographic debut at Emergence Festival with his piece “Body Memory”. In their free time, Ryan enjoys spending time with his cat and playing Fortnite.

Introducing new company dancer EMMA RANEY
•
Originally from Louisville, KY, Emma Raney relocated to Chicago, IL this year and is thrilled to perform with CDI for her first season! Formerly, she’s had the privilege of dancing with Mutual Dance Theatre and Exhale Dance Tribe. In 2023, Emma was the Dance Double for the lead in Lindsay Hartley’s, The Boxer and The Butterfly, currently on Amazon Prime and Plex TV. Through dance, she works closely with a non-profit gun violence foundation, the Whitney/Strong Organization. In addition to dance, she trains in aerial arts and competed as a Level 9 Artistic Gymnast, and she works as a Biomedical Engineer. Emma is so grateful for the guidance of Venetia Stifler, the dancers, and the choreographers she has gotten to work with this season.

Introducing returning company dancer CASEY SANDERS
•
Casey Sanders is a multi-disciplinary performing artist with a widespread love for movement. Originally from the Nashville area, she earned her B.F.A in Dance from Belhaven University before moving to Chicago in 2019. Thus far, her career has included work in television (USA Network’s “Real Country”), musical theater (“An American in Paris” and “Matilda”, Drury Lane Theatre; “Spamalot”, Mercury Theater Chicago), jazz company work (Joel Hall Dancers), and contemporary company work (Vishun Movement Dance Collective; Meadows Dance Collective; Concert Dance Inc.). She is grateful for the support of her loved ones and the opportunity to make art with the CDI family.

Introducing returning company dancer NINA JACKSON

Nina is from Nashville, TN and graduated with honors from Loyola University Chicago with a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in Dance. This is Nina’s second season with CDI, and she is beyond excited to perform in “Seeing Echoes” alongside her fellow dancers, for whom she is so grateful for. She would like to thank her mentors, friends, and family for their endless love and support.

Introducing returning company dancer CAROLINE MCLOUGHLIN
•
Caroline McLoughlin began dancing at three in Michigan training in various styles of dance including contemporary, jazz, tap, ballet, pointe, acro dance, and historical modern techniques (Graham, Humphery, Límon, and Sokolow techniques). During her undergraduate studies at Loyola University Chicago, she took part in many performances training with such professionals as Blakeley White McGuire, Daniel Fetecua, Samantha Geracht, Margherita Tisato, Paola Sorressa, Grace Hilarides, Sarita Smith-Childs, Dr. Amy Wilkinson, Raúl Casasola, Sarah Cullen Fuller, Deborah Goodman, and Sandra Kaufman. Caroline studied abroad in Rome in 2022 and was offered a scholarship to dance with the Mandala Dance Company as a part of their Matrix Pro program. She graduated in the Spring of 2023 with degrees in Dance and English Literature. After graduation, Caroline began dancing professionally with Concert Dance Inc., teaching dance in the city of Chicago, and working for Showbiz/Primetime Dance Competitions.

Introducing returning company dancer MATT HASKETT
•
Originally from Northern Virginia, Matt grew up in a competition dance studio where he trained in ballet, jazz, tap, and hip-hop. He continued his education in dance at James Madison University where Matt started his choreographic journey while also being a member of the Virginia Repertory Dance Company as well as Mozaic Dance Team. Following his time at JMU, Matt moved to Chicago with dreams of dancing and choreographing professionally where he was lucky enough to find Venetia Stifler and Concert Dance Inc. This is Matt’s second year with CDI and he is thrilled to have such a wonderful cast showcase his own choreographic work in this year’s show.

Introducing returning company dancer SYDNEY OSBORNE
•
Sydney Osborne is thrilled to be performing with CDI for her second season. She grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and graduated summa cm laude from Loyola University Chicago in 2023 with a bachelor of arts in dance and in visual communication. She then went on to join Venetia Stifler & Concert Dance Inc as a company dancer and social media coordinator. In addition, Sydney dances with Same Planet Performance Project under Joanna Read. Sydney has worked with choreographers such as Braeden Barnes, Osnel Delgado, Edson Cabrera, Chloe Michels, and Amy Wilkinson.

Introducing returning company dancer GRETCHEN PLINKE

Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Gretchen Plinke graduated from Loyola University Chicago with her B.A. in Dance and B.A. in Anthropology. This is her second season with Concert Dance Inc. Gretchen also teaches children’s dance classes throughout Chicago. She would like to thank her friends and family for their constant love and support. Gretchen is grateful for the community of artists and friends she has found at CDI.

Introducing returning company dancer CAITLIN DYER
•
Caitlin Dyer is ecstatic for her second season with CDI! Originally from northeast Ohio, she moved to Chicago 5 years ago to study at Loyola University Chicago, where she graduated with a B.A. in Dance and a B.S. in Accounting. She has had the pleasure of working with Sarah Cullen Fuller, Dr. Amy Wilkinson, Sandra Kaufman, and other gifted artists throughout her training. In addition to CDI, Caitlin performs with MOMENTA Dance Company and is a ballroom dance instructor. Caitlin would like to thank Venetia, Edson, Osnel, Matt and the exceptional dancers at CDI for their love and support.

CHOREOGRAPHER SPOTLIGHT: OSNEL DELGADO Osnel Delgado (@osneldelgado) danced with Danza Contemporanea de Cuba from 2003 to 2011, before founding Malpaso Dance Company. He has worked with choreographers Mats Ek, Rafael Bonachela, Kenneth Kvarnström, Ja Linkens, Itzik Galili, Samir Akika, Pedro Ruiz, Isidro Rolando, George Cespedes, Sonya Tayeh, Robyn Mineko, Trey McIntyre, Aszure Barton, Mats Ek, Ohad Naharin, Ron K. Brown, Ephrat Asherie among others. Delgado has created works for DCC, Rakatan, Ebony Dance of Cuba, Zenon Dance Company, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and Smuin Contemporary Ballet. Delgado is a 2003 graduate of the National Dance School of Havana, where he is also a professor of dance studies. Venetia Stifler & Concert Dance, Inc (CDI) send Holiday Greetings to you all. We are grateful for the opportunity to have shared our new dance works with you throughout the year and we look forward to a creative new season in 2024. Our vision remains the same: to present Art That Moves, movement with an emotional center that expands the mind and moves the spirit. We welcome all who wish to participate as we continue to create a sense of belonging for our artists and audience members. During our many years, the company has performed in theaters big and small, from The Ravinia Festival and Orchestra Hall to multipurpose rooms in grade schools of Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood. Over the past 42 years, the company has represented the City of Chicago through people-to-people arts programs in China, and the company was dubbed one of the “Best of the Fest” as part of the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival. In the coming year we are dedicated to supporting a new generation of young, professional dancers as they develop their skills as dancers and choreographers. In 2023, company alumni returned as teachers and choreographic artists to mentor our new company. Going forward, company members will be mentored through the choreographic process, while company Artistic Director Venetia Stifler will mount new works. We hope to present our work to you and the public this spring. As we go forward, we are asking for your help. A donation of $40 pays for an hour of rehearsal space, while $200 buys a new costume, and any amount will support fair pay for the dancers. Please be part of Concert Dance, Inc. with a donation.
