The idea is simple: Share the Porsche experience. Remove the boundaries between four-wheeled fantasy and reality. Bridge the gap between someday and today. And inspire people to chase their dreams. Checkeditout has always been about making the cars we love accessible to everyone.


Check26 accomplished this in a big way: With a 959 and multiple Singers on Fulton, a 904 Carrera GTS on Ada, and a 918 and 911R at the intersection, it was like walking through a series of bedroom wall posters from different eras. And that’s just a small piece of the four Fulton Market blocks the eighth Chicago Porsche Convergence took over last Saturday.


Seeing rare hero cars like those street-parked next to Boxsters, 944s, Macans, 914s, 356s, 911s of every vintage and style, and so much more—410 Porsches this year, a record—was something special. That kind of inclusion and accessibility is a big part of the Checkeditout ethos. Porsche is for everybody.


This year, thanks to EMBL, the stories behind the cars were more accessible than ever. A quick scan of an EMBL QR code on a windshield brought up a profile on each participating car, filling in the details. A lot easier than trying to track down a wandering owner, and a lot more aesthetically pleasing than a propped-up signboard bragging one-of-one status in comic sans.

Checkeditout is a team of dedicated people working behind-the-scenes year-round toward one special day each summer. Mentioning all of them here is beyond practical, but we’d like to shout out the Napleton Porsche Group for making the Chicago Porsche Convergence possible.

Finally, a big thank you to all the owners, caretakers, vendors, and sponsors who helped us remove the barriers between daily drivers and unobtanium, between seasoned enthusiasts and new fans, and between the kid clutching the Hot Wheels car and the real deal.




We were all kids like that once. Whether any of us have grown up is a matter of opinion. But it’s an honor and a pleasure to share our passion for these cars with so many people, year after year.

“’There is a moment of clarity when a space speaks out to me, then the vision comes in hot as driving into a corner at Road America,’ Dan Cubric types in a Slack message from his office overlooking the Chicago River. That vision is his mental blueprint for a unique annual gallery installation: a vivid super bloom of Porsches bursting through the cracked city streets like autobahn wildflowers. Where those bulbs sprout is up to Dan.








Part artist, part engineer, and total Porsche fanatic, Dan Cubric is the architect of the Checkeditout experience.








He thinks of the different sections of an event site like stages. The right site has a variety of stages to set. Different environments to place the Porsches in, with opportunities for interactions with natural and artificial light and juxtaposition with architectural details. Checkeditout is designed to be photographed. It’s also designed to inspire connection. Dan draws in space for that, too.”

Check25 commenced with a cinematic opening. Mother Nature brought the drama.Thankfully, the rainfall was short-lived. But Milo was there with his camera to document it all.

Mark Twain once said, “History doesn’t repeat itself, but it often rhymes.” Supporting evidence: The return of Checkeditout to Chicago’s celebrated Fulton Market district last summer. More than 350 vibrantly hued Porsches bloomed outward from the intersection of West Randolph and North Green streets in Chicago’s West Loop, inspiring conversation between enthusiasts, locals, and wandering tourists. Fulton Market has been a cultural hub for more than 100 years, and Randolph Street’s history as a purveyor of nourishing color dates back just as far. The parallels with Check25 weren’t perfect, But, as Twain would say, they rhymed.



Long before the five-star restaurants, boutique hotels, and high-end retailers came, Fulton Market was a sprawling wholesale food market. Randolph Street was the produce aisle. A technicolor explosion of fruits and vegetables in stark contrast to the drab meat wholesalers nearby. By the 1960s, the rise of brightly lit, air-conditioned supermarkets had wiped the district clean of its namesake. But clues remain. Like the uniquely broad width of Randolph Street, filled once more with vibrant color and conversation last August thanks to Zuffenhausen’s nourishing palette: Aubergine, Frozen Berry Metallic, Blood Orange, Apple Green, Raspberry Red Metallic, and so on.

Checkeditout returns again to the Fulton Market district on Saturday, August 22 for Check26, with ground zero at the corner of Fulton and Ada.
