RESTORED 1985 RAINBO FLASHBACK FLYER!

Check out this historuc flyer from 41 years ago at the Rainbo. Featuring 3 great DJ's two of them no longer with us. Rick Lenoir of L&R fame. Creator of the House Music anthem "Work It To The Bone" and "You Can't Stop The House" and the late great Lil DJ Jesse Velez & Sly Hula Hula Foxx.

Plus Steve Silk Hurley Performing Live as a performer instead of a DJ under the name JM SILK. This was when his songs "Music Is The Key" & "I Can't Turn Around" were blowing up on the radio. I have video clips of that performance.

Imagine trying to do a teen party like this today. On this night we didn't open the doors til midnight. If I remember correctly it was due to Jam doing an early rock concert at the Rainbo that night. So we had to clear that crowd out and clean up before opening to my crowd.

How many of you were lucky enough to have gone to the Rainbo back then?

How many of you remember the artist that went by the name THE REAL ROXANNE? Well I had the honor of booking both the original Roxanne rapper Roxanne Shante a few years earlier in 1985 at The Rainbo and this Roxanne in 1989 at The Riviera Nightclub.

WOW! "Ready For The World" It's hard to believe this concert was 40 years ago at the Rainbo. I remember doing this show like it was yesterday. They had a great show, and who could forget those Jeri-Curl days. LOL!
