For nearly 10 years, Heidi Zhang has grown with CircEsteem from an 8-year-old student discovering aerial silks to a featured performer helping bring The Night Circus to life.

A senior member of our Performance Troupe, Heidi has spent her high school years performing across Chicago through summer tours, parades, galas, and original productions like this one. Her love of circus spans aerial silks, trapeze, German wheel, partner acrobatics, juggling, and more, all fueled by the creativity, connection, and community she found at CircEsteem.

From rehearsal to the big top. Our CircEsteem youth are putting in the work, building strength, trust, and artistry as they prepare to bring The Night Circus to life.

As part of their process, our Performance Troupe collaborated in a movement and choreography workshop with dancer, choreographer, and teacher Lola Tarara. They explored movement and flow, weight sharing, contact improvisation, and ensemble presence, strengthening both their skills and their connection as a group.
