Classes are a big part of what we offer at Flan’s Glass! Our educational philosophy is rooted in kindness, empathy, clarity, and technical excellence. Through our classes you will gain new skills, confidence, and hopefully some new friendships!

Sounds of the studio! Today we spent time cutting down sheet glass from a full manufacturer’s size into the retail sizes we have for sale. Each manufacturer makes glass in different sizes and we cut them down into sizes that we can easily ship and that are useful for artists and hobbyists alike. Don’t forget we do $10 flat rate shipping if you see some glass here you like 👀😇

Morning Glories on an Iron Fence (22”x22”)
My capstone project Pilchuck Glass School with johnreyntiens Mai-loan Tu and Korina Oswald. I was inspired by the chaos of vines and flowers on iron fences around Chicago and how even in the midst of tangled flora, there’s this rigid structure grounding it all. This idea has been kicking around in my head for nearly two years and I haven’t had the skills to bring it to life until now. In the past 3 weeks I’ve learned traditional glass enamel painting, engraving on a lathe, playing around with more advanced leaded techniques, and so many other amazing glass techniques. Pilchuck has been an amazing step in my artistic practice and how I see the process of transforming a concept to a window. Forever grateful I get to spend my time learning and hanging out with people who make art with their hands. I can’t wait to iterate on this and make some even bigger pieces
