Chosen Few Picnic Travel Advisory
We look forward to seeing everyone this Saturday July 13th at the Chosen Few Picnic & Festival! Here are some important travel tips for Saturday.
● You can use the now expanded DuSable Lake Shore Drive to access the Picnic area but you will NOT be able access Hayes Drive from DuSable Lake Shore Drive.
● Instead, turn from DuSable Lake Shore Drive onto E. Marquette Drive (just south of Hayes Drive); then take Marquette to E. Richards Drive to the “Golden Lady” statue.
● At the Golden Lady, you will be permitted to turn right (East) on Hayes Drive ONLY if you have a parking pass for our Hayes parking lot; if not, you will turn left (West) on Hayes for our Drop-off Lane along Hayes Drive or if you have a parking pass for our Cornell lot (corner of Cornell & Hayes).
● After drop-off, you will be permitted to turn left (South) on Cornell Drive to vacate the area. Northbound Cornell Drive will be closed to cars, as will 63rd Street between Cornell Drive and Stony Island Avenue. Drop-off will only be permitted until 11:00 a.m.
● If you have a parking pass for the 63rd Street Beach lot, you can access that lot from southbound or northbound DuSable Lake Shore Drive.
● Parking passes were sold with certain ticket packages to the event. If you did not purchase one of these packages, there are no parking passes available and you will be denied entry into our 3 event parking lots. We encourage you to walk, cycle, or use Uber, Lyft or public transportation to and from the event.
● For Rideshares (Uber, Lyft, etc.), the official drop-off and pickup point for the event is 65th & Stony Island Avenue.
● You can also take Metra trains to the Picnic, getting off at the 63rd Street station, a few short blocks from the Picnic site.
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
