Chicago City Wide Symphony Orchestra A vibrant all-volunteer community orchestra serving Chicago since 1947 The orchestra encourages interested musicians to join us. There is no audition necessary.

Founded in 1947, The Chicago City Wide Symphony Orchestra is an all-volunteer community orchestra comprised of students and amateur, semi-professional and retired musicians of all ages from Chicago and the surrounding metropolitan area. The orchestra is currently conducted by Maestro Jason Ellis ([email protected]) and performs concerts that are free and open to the public. You s

City Wide Musicians are hard at work rehearsing for our December 9th Holiday Concert at the Copernicus Center in Jefferson Park.

Music lovers of all ages will be delighted by a program filled with Holiday favorites including Leroy Anderson’s Sleigh Ride, and Christmas Festival, The Blue Danube Waltz by the Austrian composer Johann Strauss II, Babes in Toyland by composer Victor Herbert, and selections from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker Suite, as well as the Chicago premier of Lights On!- A Hanukkah Celebration! By Russell Steinberg. These selections mixed along with others will provide an evening of festiveness that will enlighten your holiday spirit.
