nstream North America, making it a relevant component of our followers’ everyday life. The Greek America Foundation has received broad support by thousands of donors throughout the U.S. and Canada, making it one of the most progressive and active organizations serving the continent and Greek culture and heritage in North America. For more information, please be sure to visit www.GreekAmerica.org. The Greek America Foundation is proud to inaugurate a new project called GREEK FILM & FOTO WEEK (GFFW) that will bring together talented photographers and filmmakers of Greek descent from throughout North America for a one-week celebration of still and moving pictures. The first GFW took place in Toronto, Canada in May 2011 and featured 19 Greek North American photographers. The photo exhibition was hosted at one of Toronto’s most unique event spaces, The Burroughes, a landmark building that is leading the revival in one of that city’s most trendy neighborhoods. Details for the film component are under way.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you from my family, and I wish you a peaceful and drama-free weekend.

My second film, CYPRUS IN WINTER, screened in Toronto 9 days ago, for the soft launch of GIFFT year 4, and in the thrust to prepare the film, I did not send out a proper invite to all of you.

It premiered in Ottawa on October 8th, to another robust and engaged audience, and I have attached some press for the film.

As of this morning, we were informed that the AUDIO version of CYPRUS IN WINTER, which we submitted as a podcast to the 65th Thessaloniki Film Festival, was selected for this year's festival.

We were honoured by GIFFT in Toronto selecting our film, and now feel absolutely validated by being part of one of Europe's oldest and prestigious film festivals, TIFF...the original TIFF, that is centred in the historic and vibrant 2nd city of Thessaloniki.

This film version you will see has a few rough spots, flaws, and may seem raw.
Cyprus in Winter is a flawed and raw portrayal of the 50th Anniversary of the Turkish Invasion of Cyprus.

This film was made with a dedicated passion and empathy to the Cypriot people, coupled with an intense commitment to historical fact. It broke my heart while I made it. But as of this weekend, with the recognition of the Thessaloniki Film Festival, and the World Premiere and efforts of GIFFT, especially Stan Papulkas, my heart is full, and I am compelled to give thanks for my family and friends and supporters today.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you

We live in probably the best city in the world, Toronto....and I am so proud to share CYPRUS IN WINTER with all of you.

always,
Dannis
