To every special needs parent who has ever been told, "We can’t accommodate you..." This is for you. 💔➡️💪
It is a heartbreaking reality that so many of us know all too well. You search high and low for a summer program, a camp, or an activity for your child especially our beautiful children who are nonverbal, have IEPs, or require specialized support. You wait, you hope, and then you open an email that says, "Unfortunately, we don't have the staffing structure to meet those needs."
It’s frustrating. It shouldn’t be this hard to find spaces where our children are genuinely welcomed, not turned away because true inclusion wasn't built into the blueprint.
But to every mom, dad, and advocate out there holding a piece of disappointing news today: Be encouraged. Do not let one "no" dim the light on what is possible for your family. There is a place, a community, and a resource out there for your child.
We are living in a world where we still have to fight for a seat at the table, but I believe with everything in me that one day, full inclusion won't be a request it will be the standard.
My mission and my goal will always be to help build the programs, systems, and resources so that the next generation of families don't have to search quite so hard.
Until then, we Pause, Pray, and Proceed. We keep pushing, we keep advocating, and we stay encouraged together. 🕊️✨
