It’s funny when recovery people circle up for a serenity prayer, an affirmation, in the presence of non group members. People think we are religious and then we start sharing, and it’s the funniest, filthiest things, completely shrouded in reverence for the miracles of change that we are. That was Debbie Fleishman, Don Kruger & John Diaz & May’s show.

Life is challenging, personally, professionally, socially, politically, spiritually & creatively! And let us not forget finance & romance!

With all these challenges, who wouldn’t want to indulge in some self comfort like kicking back with a nice glass of rubbing alcohol, eating an entire birthday cake by oneself, in the dark, or take the edge off of a family dinner by ducking out to the OTB?

But we’re not trying to comfort ourselves with old, more destructive habits. We’re trying to keep our sh*t together as we face life’s offerings!

If you really want to maxx your support system, you need to look for the self-helpers?!!!

That’s right! They are resilient, a mix of overly independent & co dependent and can sleep anywhere, which is a good skill to have in this dystopian landscape! And if they are funny, even better!
