Hyde Park Art Center is a hub for contemporary arts in Chicago, serving as a gathering and production space for artists and the broader community to cultivate ideas, impact social change, and connect with each other. The Art Center is funded in part by local and national foundations and corporations, local and state government grants, and the generosity of its members and people like you.

Ground Floor 2026 is officially on view!

Come experience the ongoing biennial exhibition that brings together work by Chicago’s most promising emerging talent. The exhibition offers a single destination to discover artists, who have recently graduated from one of Chicago’s five MFA programs.

Hyde Park Art Center is honored to be among the 2026 Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts Awardees.

We appreciate the Graham Foundation’s support of our mission to champion Chicago art and artists. This grant will have a large impact on our commissioned solo exhibition of Leticia Pardo’s work, which we are thrilled to present in Spring of 2027.

Opening this Sunday at Center Day, join us at 1pm to celebrate ☀️ This summer mural program was a special opportunity for 12 young adults to learn about William Estrada’s history and practice as an artist deeply involved with social justice, but to also render a mural with a powerful message to our neighbors during times of political unrest—we stand in solidarity.

Led by Dorian Sylvain, featuring work by William Estrada. Mural team: Isiah Anderson, Amiracle Brooks, Terry Beeks, Tyler Bishop, E’Kiyah Burks, Randy Garvin, Manleek Holley, Josi Johnson, Bryant Lacy, Donzel Strokes, Syaire Travis, Trinity Treadwell, and Issa Williams.

Summer Term is underway and over 500 students are exploring new materials, collaborating across generations, and making art in the Oakman Clinton School & Studios. All of our programs are Open Arts; which means our students contribute what they can to support and sustain this diverse and vibrant artmaking community.
