🖤❤️ VEE DAY 2026 — THANK YOU, CHICAGO! ❤️🖤
I really had to sit down and take in everything that happened Monday because… WOW. 🥹
The 6th Annual Vee Day brought out 500+ people and dance teams from all across Chicago, and the love that was shown for my brother, Verndell “CEO Vee” Smith, was something I will NEVER forget.
First, THANK YOU to every single dance team that participated. ❤️ Y'all came out, showed up, showed love to each other, and reminded everybody what the Chicago dance community CAN look like when we come together. No battling. No competition. No egos. Just kids doing what they love and a whole dance family supporting them. THAT was the vision.
To the CEOs, coaches, parents and dancers—THANK YOU for trusting me and Ultimate Threat with your babies and your teams. Whether you performed, donated food, donated money, helped behind the scenes, shared a flyer, brought your family or simply stood in that crowd and cheered for somebody else's child… you were a part of Vee Day.
To the COMMUNITY—Y'ALL SHOWED OUT! 🥹❤️ More than 500 people came together to eat, play, dance, get school supplies, fellowship and celebrate. Everything was FREE because I have always wanted Vee Day to be something our community could enjoy regardless of what somebody could afford.
Was everything perfect? Absolutely NOT. 😂 There were some hiccups, some delays and some things completely outside of my control. But when I looked around that park and saw all those kids, all those teams and all those people together, I realized something:
Vee Day was bigger than the things that went wrong.
Six years ago, this started because I wanted to keep my brother's name alive. Today, it's becoming something much bigger—a day for an entire dance community to come together and celebrate one another.
And to everyone whose loved one we honored this year—Bo, Hollywood, Matthew, Sylvia, PolaBear, Taylor, Prince Edwards, Shay Shay, Keishanay, Priscilla,
Demarie, Senobia, Lewis, Shania, and Erica—thank you for allowing us to say their names, honor their impact and remind Chicago that they will forever be a part of this dance family. 🕊️❤️
Vee, I hope you saw us. 🥹
I hope you saw all those kids dancing.
I hope you saw all those people standing together.
And I hope you're proud of what we're building in your name.
6 YEARS DOWN. And as long as I'm able, we're going to keep saying your name.
Thank you, Chicago.
Thank you, dance family.
Thank you to EVERYBODY who made Vee Day possible.
ONE VISION. ONE LEGACY. ONE DANCE FAMILY.
