My favorite people at the piano bar are the folks wanting to have a fun time with me, so whatever your weapon of choice is - singing, dancing, air piano - I appreciate you playing along!
I think as adults it’s easy to get bogged down in life. That’s why I love what I do - sure, I play music, but at its core - it’s bringing people together for a good time!

Do you ever wonder how some bands make it “big” while others don’t? That saying “luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity” came to mind after I read this, but this sort of changes that dynamic.

It’s interesting to me that seemingly a lot of fake accounts were flooded on social media using the band’s music and sharing footage which helped fuel their rise. The algorithms are hard to break through, so I can’t say I blame them and a lot of the comments stated if their music wasn’t good, people wouldn’t be into it.

I don’t know. I’m not sure my thoughts yet. What do you think?

People who just joyfully dance like no one’s watching at the piano bar make me so happy! Awhile back, a lovely guy broke it down to this song so epically that the whole bar circled around him and was cheering him on! It was great! Then like two songs later her requested “Hey Ya” 🤦🏻‍♀️ I told him I had just played it and reminded him of his amazing dance solo. He took that as his cue to call it a night 😂.
Whether you need a little liquid courage to do it or not, I love it when you cut loose a little! No dance floor? No problem! I always say the dance floor is wherever you make it.

What are these things sweet Celine Dion would never do again?!?! I think about that every time I sing this song! And more than any laws allow?!?! Celine - I need some details!!!
I know it’s just a song, but I do get a kick of thinking about lyrics literally. Someone I was playing at a dueling gig with told me Meat loaf had written this song, and for a long time, I believed it. It seems true - it’s crazy long and those lyrics are more like Meat loaf than Celine IMO, but it turns out the person who wrote it, Jim Steinman was a songwriter for Meat Loaf, so the person who told me that wasn’t too far off.

What is my most requested song? (Also - What’s your favorite song to request?)
I don’t know! I can tell you which songs get requested a lot, but I’ll be keeping track of all my requests for April to find out the most requested song this month.
It should be interesting because I play in places with a few different vibes from the more high-energy sing-along piano bar to the more chill wine bar. I’ll keep you posted!

Keys in the door and wet towels on the floor? Spoiler alert - later she leaves the cap off the toothpaste?!?! Sounds like Jewel’d be better off living alone. (Except the keys thing is concerning…)
I know it’s just a song, but I do get a kick of thinking of lyrics literally. These are some of the silly thoughts that pop in my head as I play these songs.
