Invictus Theatre Co

Invictus Theatre Co A Chicago storefront theatre company dedicated to the power of heightened language.

The mission of Invictus is to create theatre that promotes a better understanding of language: its poetry, its rhythm, its resonance; through diverse works by diverse artists. We respect the power of heightened language: spoken, written, sung; to express the breadth of the human condition. We work to harness the power of language: to promote diversity, to engender respect, to foster collaboration; to empower our communities to share their voices.

BEHIND-THE-SCENES Rehearsal of CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF. Enjoy a sneak peak of our rehearsal, Act 1 scene where Maggie (Katherine Wettermann) mocks Mae’s children (played by Andrea Uppling) by asking:
“Why did y’give dawgs’ names to all your kiddies?” Maggie frequently refers to her sister-in-law’s children’s as “no-neck monsters”. This dialogue highlights the tension and competition for the family fortune. Also pictured Director Charles Askenaizer and Joe Bushell (Brick). Tickets on sale and this one will go fast! Don’t miss this unbelievable classic coming soon.

✨REHEARSALS ARE UNDERWAY for our 2026 season opener … Tennessee Williams’s CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF — a searing portrait of desire, denial, and family power struggles in the American South.

💥 Meet Mae (Andrea Uppling): all smiles, sharp elbows, and laser-focused on one thing — inheritance. Actor Andrea Uppling layers Southern sweetness and charm over a steely determination to stake her claim. She’s funny, ruthless, and just a little terrifying.

🔥 We’re thrilled to bring you this play, with these actors, just in time. Tickets are on sale now.
Previews begin February 17 | Opening Night February 24

FEW SPOTS LEFT👇

It’s the last week to secure your spot for On-Camera Acting with Michael B. Woods!

In this class he provides just that: create your actor toolbox for onscreen and theater work. Get in front of Emmy winning casting directors. Learn how the camera can be your scene partner instead of just a judgmental eye.

Michael B. Woods is a Chicago-based actor, writer, comedian and director. He has appeared in numerous film, TV and theatrical productions across the nation. He has starred in the docu-drama series IN AN INSTANT on ABC and performed reoccurring roles on CHICAGO PD (NBC) and EMPIRE (FOX).
