Revisiting the future of the West Side near the United Center

The $7B 1901 Project is now one step closer to reality, with city approval moving it toward breaking ground as soon as this year

The multi-phase development is expected to take place over the next 15 years and would bring nearly 9,500 residential units, hotels, a 6,000-seat music hall, and major commercial space to the area

About 20% of the housing is planned to be affordable, with a heavy focus on green space including large public areas and a rooftop park

Leaders say this would be the largest private investment ever on Chicago’s West Side, transforming parking lots into a full mixed-use neighborhood

If completed as planned, the final phase could open around 2040

Soldier Field could be getting a major upgrade 👀

A newly released concept from Edward Peck Design proposes transforming the stadium into a year round destination with a full dome and a massive entertainment district along the lakefront.

The plan would expand and modernize Soldier Field while keeping the existing structure intact, blending the historic shell with a new enclosed design.

Capacity could increase to around 72,000 seats, including new luxury suites and thousands of additional general seating options.

If it moves forward, this would completely change how Chicago hosts sports, concerts, and large scale events with no more weather issues and more big time moments year round.

New White Sox stadium could be coming to the South Loop 👀

A major move is in the works as Justin Ishbia’s group is reportedly close to buying a 47 acre rail yard from Amtrak across from The 78.

After missing their shot at The 78, with the Chicago Fire pursuing that site, the White Sox are now pivoting to land directly across the river.

If this deal goes through, it could become the future home of the White Sox.

Would you want the Sox here?

Chicago just unveiled a new vision for Grant Park and the lakefront.

The proposal includes expanded green space, improved pedestrian crossings, better bike connections, upgraded seating areas, and long term ideas like decking over DuSable Lake Shore

Drive to create more usable parkland.
The goal is to make Chicago's front yard more connected, more walkable, and more active year round.

Nothing is finalized yet, but if this moves forward it would be one of the biggest lakefront shifts in years.

Does the Lakefront need these changes?!

Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom is celebrating 100 years of music, nightlife, and live entertainment in Uptown.

The massive venue first opened in July 1926, built by brothers Andrew and William Karzas during a time when Uptown was one of Chicago’s biggest entertainment districts. Designed to resemble a Spanish village courtyard inside a Moorish castle, the ballroom featured ornate balconies, arches, and a painted night sky ceiling.

During the jazz and big band era, thousands packed the dance floor while performances were broadcast nationwide on WGN Radio, helping make the Aragon one of the most famous ballrooms in America.

Over the decades the venue evolved from a dance hall to roller rink, boxing venue, disco, and eventually one of Chicago’s most recognizable concert halls. Legends like Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Nirvana, Metallica, Green Day, and The Rolling Stones have all played inside the historic room.

After the Congress Theater closed in 2013, many major shows promoted by React Presents shifted to the Aragon, helping cement it as one of the city’s key homes for large concerts and electronic music events.

Nearly a century later, the Aragon Ballroom remains one of Chicago’s most iconic venues.

Bringing the hits since 1926.

Chicago Fire officially break ground on their new stadium

The club is building a brand new soccer-specific stadium along the Chicago River in The 78 development, marking one of the biggest sports venue projects the city has seen in years.

The stadium is expected to seat around 22,000 fans and is currently targeting a 2028 opening, giving the Fire a permanent home built specifically for soccer. The project will also help transform The 78 into one of Chicago's newest riverfront districts with restaurants, entertainment, and public spaces planned around the stadium.

Congress Theater is Coming back soon!

After sitting dark since 2013, Congress Theater just
passed final ordinance this week.

That means the full rehabilitation plan is officially approved.

The vision is a fully restored 5,000 seat state of the art live music venue bringing one of Chicago's most iconic rooms back to life. The redevelopment also includes 16 units of affordable housing on the Milwaukee side and 13,000 square feet of affordable commercial space on the Rockwell side.

For over a decade, the building has been boarded up with a damaged marquee, graffiti, and scaffolding covering parts of the sidewalk. But now the comeback is real.
