👇🏻IMPORTANT👇🏻
Scammers are impersonating tattoo artists on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok using fake or cloned profiles to solicit deposits via apps like Cash App. These scammers often use high-pressure tactics to get money, directing victims to fake appointments. Victims should verify artist identities, check for, and report, cloned accounts to avoid losing money.
Common Tactics Used by Tattoo Scammers:
Cloned Accounts: Scammers mirror legitimate tattoo studio Instagram accounts to appear official.
Fake Profiles: Creating accounts with names like "Jay" or "Jasmine" to book appointments and collect deposits.
High-Pressure Tactics: Demanding immediate deposits via Cash App or similar apps.
Bogus Appointments: Directing victims to random locations or, rarely, to actual, unsuspecting studios.
Ignoring Verification: Scammers often refuse to provide, or cannot be reached by, a phone number.
DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!
My shop sees victims of this scam at an alarming rate. Always verify by calling the shop directly on their Google listed phone number which can’t be faked because Google has a verification process! Pass the word!!!!!
