The first book we’re going to be reading is “Big Friendship: How We Keep Each Other Close” by Aminatou Sow & Ann Friedman. Our first discussion is going to be at the end of October, so, do the reading and come along on our literary journey!

Candyland Chicago was created in the cold Chicago winter of 2017 by two women who felt frustrated by the lack of gender representation at concerts, festivals, and award shows. Coming from a statistically male-dominated industry, they took it upon themselves to create a warm and welcoming space for the brilliant women and non-binary artists making waves in Chicago, thereby creating the first Candyland in February 2018.
