We've got a concert next Wednesday! Join the UIC Orchestras for a trip into the past for some of the foundational works of the orchestral repertoire. Ludwig van Beethoven is said to have “announced himself to the world” with his spirited Symphony No. 1 in C major, which took the symphonic legacies of Mozart and Haydn and added Beethoven’s own brash, witty, humorous spin. The UICO brass and percussion are spotlighted in Handel’s sparkling Music for the Royal Fireworks. This concert also marks the debut of the UIC Chamber Orchestra performing Samuel Barber’s rapturous Adagio for Strings. Second-year music education student Danna Butnariu, winner of UIC’s Concerto & Aria Competition, is featured on Hummel’s iconic Trumpet Concerto.

Remember, all of our concerts are free and open to the public.

UIC Choirs and Orchestra present Mozart's Requiem! April 24 at St. Francis of Assisi. You won't want to miss this!

Join us for Mozart’s “Requiem” performed by the UIC Choirs & Orchestra on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 7:30pm at St. Francis of Assisi at UIC (813 W Roosevelt Rd, Chicago, IL 60608). 

The concert also includes Haydn’s Oboe Concerto, featuring Kimiko Aoki, Winner of the 2024-25 UIC Concerto & Aria Competition.
